SigenStor - Lighting Up Hope in Nam Tra My’s Mountains

In the remote yet breathtaking mountains of Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam province, Vietnam, tiny villages, or "nóc" as the locals call them, are nestled in rugged, pristine landscapes. Here, misty peaks rise above untouched forests, offering a picture-perfect view of nature’s beauty. But beneath this scenic charm lies a harsh reality: these villages are cut off from the world, accessible only by steep, winding mountain paths that demand hours of exhausting travel, whether on foot or by motorbike. For someone used to the conveniences of city life, the journey to reach Nóc Ong Du feels like stepping into a different world—one where modern amenities are all but absent.

Children born in the mountains have few choices—the path out of poverty is steep and limited. For them, school is more than just a place to learn; it’s their chance at a better life. Each day, children make long, difficult treks to class, driven by dreams of a future beyond the mountains, and a handful of dedicated teachers remain by their side, committed to helping them pursue those dreams despite the challenging conditions.

The worst thing is, there is no grid in this remote place. Without electricity, the school struggles. In summer, classrooms are unbearably hot, while winters bring freezing cold. There are no lights, fans, or heaters. Students study in dim daylight, and every day is a test of endurance. Despite this, they arrive with bright, determined faces. But their hard work deserves more support—safe, stable learning conditions where they can grow and thrive.

To bring relief, Sigenergy stepped in with a solution: a solar power system, including solar panels, a 5 kWh SigenStor energy storage unit and a gateway to connect diesel generator. Now, with access to a sustainable, reliable energy source, the school can offer basic comforts we often take for granted. During the day, solar power fuels the school, while stored energy lights classrooms, powers fans, and keeps a refrigerator running, providing fresh meals during the night and even on rainly days.

Sigenergy’s mission has always been clear: to use innovative energy solutions to deliver green, reliable power to everyone, no matter how remote. The SigenStor system brings this vision to life. With a compact, modular design, the 5kWh battery weighs just 55kg, making it easy to transport and install—even in isolated locations like Nóc Ong Du. Its all-in-one design integrates a PV inverter, PCS, EMS, storage batteries, and optional EVDC charging, providing a complete, adaptable energy solution.

Sigenergy never compromises on safety, especially when children are involved. The SigenStor system is equipped with five layers of battery protection, making it one of the safest energy storage solutions in the industry. With an IP66 rating and an operating temperature range of -25 to 55°C, SigenStor is designed to perform in both tropical and arctic environments. Its natural cooling feature and ultra-quiet operation (just 30 dB) ensure that it operates unobtrusively indoors, without disturbing students' learning or rest. If necessary, it can also be installed outdoors, providing flexibility in challenging environments.

For the school, installation day was a historic event. Suddenly, everything changed. The kids no longer had to wake up at dawn to start their trek to school; now, they could stay on campus, commuting weekly instead of daily. They enjoy warm meals, study in brightly lit classrooms, and have fresh food stored safely in the refrigerator. Laughter fills the school, and teachers now feel relieved, knowing they can give these children a secure environment to learn in.

The transformation is more than physical—it’s emotional. These children are no longer limited by the setting sun. They can study, play, and grow with the support of clean energy, fueling their dreams and opening doors to a brighter future. Sigenergy is proud to play a part in their journey, harnessing the power of technology to light up lives and bring lasting hope to the mountains of Nam Tra My.
